Location/setting

What I have noticed is that many horror films are set in an isolated area where there is no other human activities happening. Horror films tend to groups of people or an individual who go to explore an abandoned building or they stay a night in a haunted house or somehow go missing in a forest. These are common setting used by horror films. Here are some examples of links below:

As you can see these films are both set in a house which backs up my research about a commonly used location. I have realised in all these films there is no outside help and the people have to defend themselves.

While researching ice also reliased that the setting is normally dark, usually set at night this represent that night is evil or a time of danger, it emphasizes the fact when it gets dark you don’t know what to expect. There are many films where you see that when it gets dark that’s when everything starts to happen. An example is the film last exorcism:

we have decided to use the forest as the location. This is because it contains all the elements in the horror type. Further more, by using the location the audience will straightaway know hat type of genre this film is
